Job Summary:

The Senior Researcher will focus on leading a consortium project where Includovate is the evaluation, research, and learning partner. The role requires expertise in mixed-methods research in international development and excellent client relationships and trust-based partnerships. The Senior Researcher will be responsible for delivering high-quality, impactful research and providing strategic insights to clients. With a strong background in evaluations and research, they will drive new research initiatives, publish findings, and represent Includovate at conferences and workshops. This role requires advanced research skills and experience with quasi-experimental methods and participatory approaches. We seek someone who enjoys learning and reflecting with others and is comfortable facilitating the workshop and speaking publicly. You must be a feminist to work at Includovate.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Research & Intellectual Leadership:

  • Develops knowledge products, e.g. webinars, blogs, position papers, and learning events for Includovate’s marketing channels.
  • Communicates research findings in engaging formats, both verbally and in writing, tailored to specific audiences.
  • Reviews and refines research outputs to uphold quality and relevance.
  • Provides guidance and training for junior researchers through feedback, internal workshops, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Delivers timely, high-quality, and on-budget outputs to client satisfaction.
  • Serves as the primary client liaison, building strong relationships and exceeding client expectations.
  • Identifies new research opportunities and partnerships, leveraging networks for projects and collaborations.
  • Draft proposals, concept notes, and budgets to secure additional projects for Includovate.

Qualifications & Skills:

  •  Master’s degree in social sciences or relevant fields (e.g., migration studies, public health, sociology, development studies).\
  • Minimum of 10 years in research, including experience leading research teams and overseeing high-stakes projects.
  • Demonstrable experience running learning and reflection workshops and helping partners and clients learn from evidence that shifts their behaviour.
  • Experience with adaptive development approaches are preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evaluation, particularly in international development or humanitarian assistance, with at least five publications, either evaluation reports, journal articles or other knowledge products where you are the author.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and familiarity with some research software such as NVivo, STATA, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Proven organisational, critical thinking, and presentation skills with a strong command of English; fluency in Arabic is an asset.
  • Familiarity with conducting mid-term and final project evaluations.

Work conditions: 

  • Work Location: Must be based in Amman, Jordan, for the duration of the contract. Includovate is a 100% remote organisation, and in this role there will be regular face-to-face meetings with partners and the PMU. Successful candidates need a computer or laptop with a high-speed internet connection.
  • Employment Type: This contractual full-time position will continue until the project closes in 2026. It can be extended after that on other Includovate work based upon performance and finances
  • Work hours: Flexible working arrangements apply, with some work falling outside core business hours to accommodate time zone differences.
  •  Remuneration: We offer competitive remuneration depending on the candidate’s base location and role suitability.
