Barnali Das is a seasoned, integrated communications and marketing strategist with over two decades of diverse market experience across South Asia. She also has core competences in branding, marketing communication, public policy, and advocacy with domain expertise in sustainable development of the marginalised, especially empowerment of women and children.

Until recently, she was leading Uber’s Corporate Communications mandate for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Prior to that, she was the national head of PR and Communications for a global child care charity, SOS Children’s Villages in India where she led thought leadership building efforts for the organization. She also held the distinction of serving as a Senior Media Advisor in the Govt of India’s flagship scheme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (Save the Girl Child, Educate the girl child), targeting the declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and other related issues of empowering women and girls over a life-cycle continuum. 

Earlier in her journey, Barnali had a successful career in the Indian television industry directing and producing a wide range of news, current affairs, and lifestyle shows. As a storyteller, she loves to see corporate and consumer stories come alive in an integrated manner through the app, social media, videos, CRM, website, leveraging both earned and owned media. Her efforts to amplify Uber’s free ride support for the vaccination drive across South Asia and to some of the most vulnerable COVID affected communities, won many awards.

Barnali graduated from Miranda House, India’s No.1 college, majoring in English literature and she holds a 1st class Masters and M.Phil degree in Linguistics from Delhi University. She speaks fluent English, Hindi, Assamese and Bangla.
