Job Summary:

The Graphic Design Specialist will increase the organisation’s reach and visibility and help with client work across projects. Our team of researchers needs infographics for research reports and to make graphs and slide decks more visually appealing. The internal-facing work will help our brand communicate our impact and thought leadership more.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Designing internal and external requests, product creatives, policy briefs, current reports, infographics and video content, and client work.
  • Developing Maps or infographic visual maps – to highlight information. Enhance the visual quality of reports and PowerPoint presentations. Ensure that all products also adhere to the accessibility rules
  • Supporting Comms team in SM presence and Business Dev Team in Proposal formatting.
  • Enhancing the website and current client-facing outputs.
  • Data Visualisation – Visualise central data and project data through a storytelling approach.
  • Support in any audio-visual content.
  • Make impact stories and case studies. Make a documentary for the Partnerships team to show impact stories.
  • Make animated videos for some proposals.
  • Create content for opportunity dates and blogs. Make our existing content more engaging, train current volunteers to do the same, and assist with in-house capacity building.
  • Attends meetings and participates in client-facing communications as needed.
  • Weekly communication with the team via briefings and execution of deliverables.

Qualifications & Skills:

  •  Bachelor/ Master’s degree in graphic design, art, or similar discipline
  • 5+ years experience (preferably with a creative or marketing agency) with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.
  • Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
  • Proven experience with graphic design, with a strong portfolio of work
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working in our sector with social impact organisations, UN agencies
  • Working on research briefs, reports, infographics, Newsletter designing, SM post designs
  • Knowledge of WordPress and content management systems a plus
  • Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software
  • Desire to continue to grow skill set with ongoing education and training
  •  Organisational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in the development sector and experience with the United Nations are strongly preferred
  • Excellent in design and communication
  • Design skills of doodling, UI/UX a plus
  • Fluent in English

Work conditions: 

  • Work Location: Remote working with excellent flexibility, successful candidates need to have a computer/ laptop with a high-speed internet connection.
  • Employment Type: This is a 12-month contractual position with a very high probability of being extended based on performance.
  • Work hours: Full-time hours. Flexible working arrangements apply, with some work falling outside core business hours to accommodate time zone differences.
  •  Remuneration:  We offer competitive remuneration depending on the candidate’s base location and role suitability.
